Every wedding is a joyous event, but sometimes we go to weddings that just blow us away. Sometimes because of the attention to detail, others because of the obvious warmth and closeness of family and friends, most often its because it’s clear how strongly attached the couple are. And other times we just feel like we are instant friends. Lucy & Robbie’s wedding ticked all these feel good boxes. We’re still buzzing!
The wedding took place at the recently revamped Hammet House in Llechryd (thumbs up to Phillipa & Owen).
Teas on the lawn.
And the sun played a starring role – after a month of interminable rain it stopped just for the day!
Lucy and Robbie are so bubbly and full of life, with expressions to match. Here they are goofing up for me.
Who wouldn’t want to?? Twang those braces, that is. 🙂
From Hammet House we headed off to one of Robbie & Lucy’s favourite places – Ffynone waterfall in Pembrokeshire.
Then it was back to the family farm just outside Newcastle Emlyn. This was nothing short of heaven for Vince – camping, live music, great food, and super friendly people. Glastonbury eat your heart out.
Each guest was asked to bring a dessert!
Infectious smiles or what?!
Robbie had seen Rob selling his Dutch Pancakes from his Poffertjes Tram at a festival and knew they wanted him to come and make them for the wedding. They were delicious.
With a large extended family it was great to have a family tree to see who is who.
Piñata for the kids.
Pin the tail on the donkey/spot the ball with the engagement ring! Genius!
And then for Vince, the highlight. The funniest, warmest set of speeches ever. Not an internet-found cliche to be heard.
And then the first dance…
They said it would surprise people – and it did. A slow ballad version of the Aussie soap theme “Home and Away” quickly turned into a fab rock dance with lifts, spins and twirls galore. Into the night they danced (and sang) with the bandeoke legends that are The Warble Bandeoke Band – they make kareoke look so lame!
Vince was sad to go home….
Big thanks to Robbie & Lucy for having us along. Truly a privilege. All the pictures can now be viewed on the client section of our wedding site.
