In July we spent a lovely laid-back day with Lucy and Lewis at Llys Meddyg, one of our favourite venues. A real home-from-home atmosphere with outstanding food and service. In spite of a very rainy start to the day, Lucy never seemed to doubt that their planned garden ceremony would be able to go ahead.
It was quite amazing being up in Lucy’s top-floor room and watching the clouds just fade away. It’s always astounds me how often things just work out for you on your wedding day. Meanwhile the guests were gathering in the cosy Cellar Bar.
Lucy’s niece absolutely idolised her as you can see. She was the only bridesmaid and she clearly relished it. 🙂
Lucy and Lewis planned the whole day to be as relaxed as humanly possible. No formal group photos, no seating plan, afternoon tea, and later pizzas cooked in the wood fired oven in the dining room. We left the guests mingling to the backdrop of a mellow guitarist, while we drove Lucy and Lewis up into the hills for a few portraits.
Lucy and Lewis had driven around to scout out a good location themselves – it couldn’t have been better! And by this time the sun well and truly had its hat on and was coming out to play.
All the venue flowers were done by one of the mums (can’t remember which!) on the morning. These days everyone says they want informal flowers that look like they’ve come straight from the meadow, which I think is actually quite difficult to pull off. But some of these arrangements certainly nailed it!
After hilarious speeches, we joined the guests for a gorgeous afternoon tea in the perfect afternoon.
All the photos can be seen and purchased and viewed as a slideshow on the Clients page of our Wedding Photography web site. All our best wishes to Lucy and Lewis and thanks for having us along for your gorgeous day!
