This was a close-to-home wedding in many ways; we can see the church from our front door, Helen and Naomi have been friends for several years, the reception was held in a marquee in the garden (as Helen’s father is Mr ‘Fedwen Tentage‘), and most of all they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and at home.
I think the nervous wait for Richard was about the only time I didn’t see him with a beaming smile on his face!
From the church we went to nearby Cilgwyn Gardens, where we had a lovely time doing portraits and generally enjoying ourselves.
Not only was the marquee one of the most beautiful (of the very many) we’ve seen, Helen had tastefully covered every little detail, including this lovely guest wishing tree.
As Best Man Richard’s brother fed the audience a steady stream of embarrassing stories.
Then Helen and Richard stepped onto the dance floor…
We love photographing into the evening, when people are relaxed and often more dynamic in their expressions.
The evening ended with a surprise firework display, and the guests serenading the couple with the Welsh hymn, Calon Lân
It was so lovely to spend the whole day with Helen and Richard. (And there’s more to come as they’ve chosen to have a Take2 session with us in the near future.) Meanwhile all the photos from the wedding day are now available on the Client Section of our Wedding Photography site
