With the beautiful Penrallt Hotel re-opened we’re excited to be back photographing weddings at this beautiful venue. So take a look at one of our favourite wedding’s there from a few years back. Mynhewch!
Be warned this is a long post – but I love it!! For an extra treat if you make it to the end I’ll even link you to the gorgeous highlights video!
Easter Saturday was a glorious day for Chrissie and Giles’s wedding at The Penrallt Hotel in Aberporth – which has this incomparable view from the lawn!
Giles and his daughter set up the dining room at the hotel, laying out the hand-finished egg cups which would serve as place names and as favours.
Meanwhile Chrissie was at the family home very happily showing off her dress to everyone who arrived. She was really bubbling with excitement about her dress – it was lovely to see. And the whole morning was just a relaxed happy time with family, looking back at old family photos over tea or champagne – perfect. 🙂
Love this dinky little door! St Michael’s is maybe the prettiest church I’ve seen yet.
Chrissie’s brother walked her up the aisle, and then she and her son lit candles in memory of her father and older sister.
The firework display straight after dinner was a surprise not only to the guests but to Chrissie. 🙂 Then it was time to dance, and the children led the way as usual!
Unbeknown to Chrissie when she booked us, I’ve sung in choir with her mother for several years, and Margaret has never been shy of talking about her family! So getting to meet them all and see for myself that she is as blessed in her children and grandchildren as she’s always said, was a real privilege and actually quite emotional for me. When Margaret unexpectedly stood up to give a speech, I couldn’t see to shoot for a few moments! They are an exceptional family to which Giles is undoubtedly a worthy addition.
We cannot recommend highly enough Ben Walton who made a priceless wedding film for Chrissie and Giles. Watching it again now I realise how well he’s captured the sense of family that I was just talking about. He’s not only recorded their wedding day but somehow put it in the context of their whole lives. He’s an actual genius. Look out for the moment that Giles’s little daughter puts her hand up into Chrissie’s hand – and the look on her face. I well up every time.
