We had a freezing but fabulous day in Caerphilly recently with Aerfen and Nick. Here are a few of our favourite images from their beautiful day.
The atmosphere at Aerfen’s father’s house was absolutely wonderful; we arrived to find them dancing to Aerfen’s wedding day request on the local radio station! The house itself was full of character and gorgeous details, like this lovely old church pew.
There was no sign of nerves anywhere and we shared a relaxed lunch of salmon and cream cheese bagels before heading off to the chapel to capture the guests arriving!
The day was blessed with abundant winter sunshine which filled the chapel with loads of delicious light.
After the vows Nick surprised Aerfen with a gift of a Welsh lovespoon he had carved himself. So often the bride is the one who has planned out every tiny detail of the day herself, so it’s really lovely when something happens that she doesn’t expect!
The old tradition of formal greeting lines is thankfully dying out. (It takes ages, just when everyone’s hungry!) A lot nicer to do it informally as people leave the ceremony.
Then it was off to the stunning Caerphilly Castle for a reception full of loads of laughter and fun. Aerfen’s dad gave possibly the funniest Father of the Bride speech we’ve heard yet!
We were immensely grateful to Aerfen and Nick and their families for the warm welcome they gave us, even though we had never met before the day! We felt completely comfortable with them, which makes our job a hundred times easier.
